Our clients are really excited about video at the moment and looking for creative ways to introduce it into their ad campaigns in a cost-effective way. One of the down sides is that video can be costly to produce, and therefore a real stretch for small business marketing budgets. That’s why the introduction of Facebook Slideshow is creating a bit of a buzz!
What is Facebook Slideshow?
Facebook recently announced their plans for Slideshow, which will allow advertisers to create Facebook videos in just a few clicks. Basically, Facebook will let advertisers create video ads from still images. All you will need to do is load three to seven still images (from existing video, your own photos or choose from Facebook’s stock image library), and then choose the length of your slideshow, from 5 to 15 seconds.
The added benefit of this feature is that the video size will be a whole lot smaller than standard video, which means if you are targeting people in areas with slow internet connection, you won’t miss out on getting your video message across due to slow internet connection.
You can check out more detail, and some examples of Facebook Slideshow over on the Facebook for Business blog.
Is this a game changer?
While we don’t think Slideshow is going to entirely compare with great quality video that truly tells a story about your business, it certainly will be a great place to start for many, and a tool you can have some fun within your marketing mix!
There is so much noise out there, you want your business to stand out. Engaging visual content is definitely a great step towards helping make that happen. This, supported by a well targeted and well executed Facebook Advertising campaign, can be an important component of your marketing strategy, especially if you’re in the hospitality and tourism industries.
