With a background in investment banking working for JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs, Matthew moved into IT in early 2000, completing his Bachelor of Information Technology from Bond University in 2002. Since then he has worked on numerous high traffic websites such as, whereis.com, yellowpages.com.au and whitepages.com.au.
In 2006 Matthew was asked to join the founding team of shopping search engine Lasoo.com where he led an international team as General Manager of Product and Marketing for over 5 years.
With the rapid rise of digital marketing and the mobile web, he saw an opportunity these channels offered the hospitality and tourism industries. Having a strong personal interest in eating, drinking and travelling, coupled with his marketing and web design experience, he knew it was a path he had to explore, and in 2011 he started Social Tap.
Matt is a rare talent who combines a great design eye with technical ability. He is our go-to guy for all things web and tech and has a fantastic ability to develop digital marketing strategies that pack a punch.
He’s a PC guy (not Mac). He is a Playstation guy, not Xbox. He drives a Landcruiser, not a Patrol. His nickname at school was MacGyver due to his resourcefulness, being handy with a paper clip and Swiss Army Knife and practical approach to solving problems.
